Hello! Dr. Lewis here.

Even though I am the least tech-savvy among us, I have the most years "in the trenches" of pediatrics, so I will be posting practical pediatric advice for you on a regular basis.  It's school physical season, so I thought I would give a few tips on making the most of your child's well visits.

  • First, prep your child about needing to wear underwear + /- the paper gown for their exam.  Have them wear their bathing suit under their clothes instead of underwear if that is more comfortable for your child.
  • Next, prepare them in advance if immunizations will be needed.  Advance warning prevents many tears in our office!
  • Arrive on time with any surveys we may have sent to you completed, and with any school/camp forms that may we may need to complete for you.
  • During the visit, encourage your child to answer our questions--we love chatting with them, and some of their answers may surprise you!

We look forward to seeing you soon!
