Our Therapist

Katelyn Bentel, LCSW grew up in Aurora, IL and received her undergrad degree in Health & Human Physiology from the University of Iowa. She then obtained her master's degree in social work at the Aurora University and also holds a Profectum DIR Floortime CL1 certification. She has previously worked in hospital settings and a pediatric outpatient rehabilitation center. 

Katelyn has a history of working with children/families navigating individual needs and differences impacted by ASD, ADHD, anxiety, parent-child relationship dynamics, and medical complexities. Her treatment approach is child-led and play-based through a trauma-informed care lens—utilizing CBT, motivational interviewing, and DIR frameworks. She considers it a privilege to be able to work alongside children and families, to create a space for strengthening relationships that will foster positive development.

In her free time, Katelyn can often be found reading, spending time outside, and enjoying her cat, Chip.
