Matthew Root grew up in the state of Wyoming and attended college and medical school at the University of Minnesota. He completed residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville before moving to Chicago. He is board certified in General Pediatrics and has interests in ADHD, asthma, depression, anxiety, and adolescent medicine.

He is a proud self-proclaimed nerd whose interests include board games, puzzles, and expanding on his repertoire of bad puns.  He is easily recognizable in the clinic as the one who wears an eclectic mix of colorful socks. You can often find him walking his weiner dogs with his wife around the city.
