All Star Pediatrics New Patient Guide

Welcoming a new baby or switching pediatricians is a big step, and we want your family's transition to All Star Pediatrics to be as smooth as possible. Here's what to know before your first visit.

Before You Schedule

Start by confirming your insurance coverage. All Star Pediatrics accepts PPO plans from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. HMO plans and Illinois KidCare are not accepted. Visit our insurance overview page for full details, or call your insurance carrier directly to confirm we're in-network under your specific plan.

Transferring Care From Another Pediatrician

If you're moving your child's care from another practice, our team can help coordinate the transfer of medical records. You'll typically need to sign a release of information form authorizing your child's previous provider to send records to our office. Once we receive them, our physicians will have your child's full history on hand for the first visit.

Expecting a New Baby?

If you're pregnant and looking for a pediatrician before delivery, many families choose to schedule a prenatal or "meet and greet" visit. This gives you a chance to tour the office, meet our physicians, and ask questions before your baby's first appointment.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

  • Your insurance card — required at every visit so we can verify coverage and collect your co-payment
  • Photo ID for the accompanying parent or guardian
  • Any previous medical records, immunization history, or referral paperwork, if available
  • A list of current medications or allergies, if applicable

What to Expect for Payment

Co-payments are due at the time of service. We accept cash, personal checks, and Visa, Mastercard, and Discover credit cards. We also offer Easy Pay, which securely stores your card on file so that any remaining balance after your insurance processes the claim is billed automatically. Missed appointments are subject to a $30 fee, and records transfer requests are subject to a $20 fee. Full details are in our Financial Policy.
